Coatings & Surface Finishing Services
Anodize, plate, passivate, or paint — we manage your finishing spec through qualified outside processors and inspect every part when it comes back, so one PO covers machining and finish together.
Finish Specs Managed From Machining Through Delivery
Most finish processes — anodizing, plating, passivation, painting — require specialized lines that live outside a machine shop. Impulse Precision manages that entire step for you: parts are machined in-house, masked and prepped to spec, sent to our qualified finishing partners, and inspected again when they return before anything ships. You get one PO and one point of contact instead of managing a finishing vendor relationship yourself.
Every finish callout is tracked against your drawing specification, whether that's a MIL-SPEC anodize class, a specific plating thickness, or a paint system with a defined film build. Certificates of conformance for the finish process are included with your final documentation package.
- Anodizing, plating, passivation, and painting coordinated through qualified partners
- Masking and surface prep handled in-house before parts leave for finishing
- Post-finish inspection before final shipment
- Finish certificates of conformance included in documentation
- Single PO covering machining and finishing together
- MIL-SPEC and commercial finish standards supported
Finishes We Manage
The most commonly specified finishes we coordinate for machined parts.
Anodizing
Type II and Type III hardcoat anodize in clear and color, per MIL-A-8625 or equivalent spec.
Plating
Nickel, zinc, and cadmium-alternative plating for corrosion resistance and conductivity.
Passivation
Stainless steel passivation per AMS2700 to remove free iron and improve corrosion resistance.
Painting & Powder Coat
Wet paint and powder coat systems for cosmetic and protective finish requirements.
Materials We Machine and Finish
Finish compatibility is confirmed against material selection before the job ever reaches the machine.
Industries We Serve
Coated and finished parts are essential wherever corrosion resistance, wear performance, or cosmetic finish are part of the spec.
Aerospace / Defense / Aviation
MIL-SPEC anodize, plating, and passivation for flight and ground support hardware.
UAV & UAS
MIL-SPEC coatings and finishes for unmanned systems airframe and payload components.
Medical Devices
Passivation and finish processes supporting biocompatibility and corrosion resistance.
Semiconductor Equipment
Hardcoat anodize and specialty finishes for wear-resistant process equipment.
Marine & Energy
Corrosion-resistant plating and coatings for components exposed to harsh environments.
Robotics & Automation
Anodized and coated components balancing wear resistance with cosmetic finish.
Transportation
Painted and plated components meeting appearance and durability requirements.
Outdoors & Sporting Goods
Anodized and coated finishes for performance hardware requiring wear resistance and cosmetic appeal.
Apparel & Consumer Goods
Finish coordination for tooling and components in apparel and consumer goods programs.
